Floral Collars Fit for a King
I am so totally smitten with these floral collars from Tutankhamun's Embalming Cache. For art history buffs, that translates to eco chic funerary fashion from the New Kingdom/Dynasty 18, ca. 1336–1327 B.C.
Natural fiber and vegetal materials include: papyrus, olive leaves, persea leaves, nightshade berries, possibly celery, faience, linen, cornflowers, blue lotus petals, and picris flowers.
Currently on view at The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Tutankhamun’s Funeral.
