Peace and Goodwill for All

Earthpledge has joined forces with Barneys NY to create *hippie holidays* window installations as an homage to the very groovy peace sign and the current love-in that is eco-fashion. On view through January 1, 2009, the Madison Avenue window displays celebrate a "collaboration with top fashion designers to create one-of-a-kind environmentally friendly fashions incorporating the peace sign. Designers were given free reign to incorporate the iconic symbol into their designs, while utilizing sustainable materials and techniques that reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing and production." Not all passersby seemed convinced when I was photographing these windows last month, but then again, not everyone is a peacenik or a true hipster during the often stressful holiday season.
